Everybody assumed their was something wrong with Paul McCartney and it was actually just his dye job making him look that way...I guess men should just chuck the hair dye.Ha!ha! How long did this particular portrait take to do?I ant to do pencil and charcoal drawings again but I don't have the patience anymore! I will lay out something and end up grabbing paint and pastels to cover it.It's habit forming...
I only worked in oils for 5 years and stumbled into acrylics on a commisoned work...the woman I was painting for bought about 20 assorted colors and I was skeptical at first...my Neil Diamond is an older acrylic portrait, and if you look closely you can see I was'nt blending the tones as well.I am sure you could work well with acrylics, you're composistions and that paint would truly be a winning combination!Have you ever worked with oil pastel?
I can understand that...they are thick...and when it comes to small details like eyes...frustrating.Acrylics are very cheap and the trick with em' is to keep your brush wet. That way you can control the thickness. How about watercolors,I am starting to experiment with em'.
